Welcome to harcer.am ("Application", "Service", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by DegreeBounds. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application available on iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store) platforms.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you register for an account, we collect:

• Name: Your display name for personalization;
• Email Address: Used for account creation, login, and password recovery;
• Password: Securely hashed and stored by Firebase Authentication (we never see or store your actual password).

2.2 Information Generated Through Use

As you use the Application, we collect:

• Quiz Results: Your test scores, correct/incorrect answer counts;
• Learning Progress: Which sections and topics you have completed;
• Study Data: Your performance history to track your improvement.

2.3 Information Stored Locally

The following data is stored only on your device:

• Offline Content: Questions and study materials for offline access;
• App Preferences: Your settings and display preferences;
• Authentication Token: To keep you logged in between sessions.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely for the following purposes:

• Account Management: To create and manage your user account;
• Service Delivery: To provide access to educational content and features;
• Progress Tracking: To save and display your learning progress across devices;
• Subscription Management: To verify your subscription status and provide access to premium features;
• Password Recovery: To send password reset emails when requested;
• Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide assistance.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the Application:

4.1 Firebase (Google)

• Firebase Authentication: Handles secure user login and registration;
• Firebase Realtime Database: Stores your quiz results and learning progress;
• Firebase Firestore: Stores subscription status and app content.

4.2 RevenueCat

RevenueCat manages subscription purchases and syncs your premium status across devices. RevenueCat receives:

• Your anonymous user ID (linked to your Firebase account);
• Subscription purchase information from Apple/Google.

4.3 Apple App Store / Google Play Store

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We do not receive or store your payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.).

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1 Where Your Data is Stored

• Cloud Storage: Account data and progress are stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) servers;
• Local Storage: Offline content and preferences are stored on your device using secure local databases.

5.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All data transmission uses SSL/TLS encryption;
• Passwords are securely hashed (never stored in plain text);
• Firebase Security Rules restrict data access to authorized users only;
• Authentication tokens are stored securely using platform-specific secure storage (iOS Keychain, Android EncryptedSharedPreferences).

5.3 Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion:

• Your personal information and progress data will be permanently deleted;
• Subscription records may be retained by Apple/Google per their policies;
• Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for service improvement.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: View your account information within the Application;
• Correction: Update your name or email through account settings;
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data;
• Password Reset: Reset your password via email at any time.

How to Delete Your Account

You can request account deletion by:

• Contacting us at support@harcer.am;
• Using the account deletion feature in the Application (if available).

Note: Deleting your account does not automatically cancel active subscriptions. Please cancel subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play Store before requesting deletion.

7. Subscriptions and Purchases

Our Application offers premium subscriptions:

• All payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store;
• We receive notification of your subscription status (active/expired) but NOT your payment details;
• RevenueCat helps sync your subscription across devices using your anonymous user ID;
• For billing issues or refunds, contact Apple or Google directly.

8. Children's Privacy

Our Application is an educational tool designed for students preparing for examinations.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@harcer.am, and we will delete such information.

9. International Users

Our Application is primarily intended for users in Armenia preparing for unified examinations. If you access the Application from outside Armenia, please be aware that your data may be transferred to and processed on servers located in other countries (Google Cloud Platform).

By using the Application, you consent to such transfer and processing.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect;
• Request deletion of your personal information;
• Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information.

11. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including:

• Right to access and receive a copy of your data;
• Right to rectification of inaccurate data;
• Right to erasure;
• Right to data portability;
• Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Legal Basis: We process your data based on your consent (account creation) and contract performance (providing the service).

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes:

• The "Last Updated" date at the bottom will be revised;
• For significant changes, we may notify you via email or in-app notification;
• Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance.
